I'd tried to made a roux once with rice flour but it gummed up and just stayed hard. (sad). I would definitely try it with solid/softened coconut oil to mix instead of coconut oil that has turned to liquid. Visiting the parents for a few weeks though, they only had a crappy centrifugal one, until I realized the kitchen aid had a grinder attachment, then when everything was nice and pulpy, I squeezed the pulp through some cheesecloth- I'll have to get the strainer attatchment too.

Best of luck with your health.

My good friend has been going through hodgkin's lymphoma, of which the epstein barr virus can be a precurser, so please, take very good care of yourself. juicing and much natural support has gotten her through this time.

Here's a few things I hope are helpful:

Remember to only juice organic.

Cucumber and Celery are two of the best lymphatic support.

Simpler is easier on your body, always.

Lemon and citrus are extremely powerful detoxers, and can be too hard on the body when struggling with health issues.

Probiotiics- so you can get the full benefit of your juice (other than just the lacto and acidophilous strains which are very acidic)

2 primary supplements every juicer should take:
Milk Thistle- the liver has regenerative powers so the more toxins you move from it the better. and
Cascara Sagrada: a natural, non habit forming laxative for moving out all those toxins!

Be kind to yourself, and find some quiet time to just focus on your breath and feelings of love for yourself, and gratitude for your life everyday.

Blessings to you and best of luck on your journey.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6723154518978039302.post-35796957270039303122015-01-25T23:46:23.682-06:002015-01-25T23:46:23.682-06:00Ooooo, I am enjoying this for 3 straight nights no...Ooooo, I am enjoying this for 3 straight nights now.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05827377708641041717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6723154518978039302.post-24660942489474360452014-12-23T22:21:43.842-06:002014-12-23T22:21:43.842-06:00Thank you, Sonia! I'm not familiar with any blogs that call for her flours and don't use xanthan, but I think you might have some success if you use ground chia seed or psyllium husk powder in place of it. I generally use one or two teaspoons of ground chia in my dry ingredients with most recipes these days and haven't used xanthan on purpose in years. I still love Pamela's, which does use it, but I don't add it to anything. I've found success using psyllium husk powder in breads.Caneelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11542567278525155850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6723154518978039302.post-26333659021829781422014-12-17T19:37:01.212-06:002014-12-17T19:37:01.212-06:00No zanthan gum! I haven'...I'm sorry it didn't work out! I haven't tried the King Arthur flour for this, so I'm not sure. I would think that the extra starch in that would help thicken it up, but maybe not. I have found that when I have tried to use tapioca starch instead of corn starch in pudding-type recipes, I have to be more careful with not over-stirring, or the thickness will vanish. Perhaps a blend with tapioca starch acts the same way? Gluten-free flours just aren't going to act like regular flour in most recipes, but they should get dark enough in the roux. I find it takes a loooong time, though. I hope you find luck in your next try!Caneelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11542567278525155850noreply@blogger.com
