"One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words." - Goethe

I'm starting a new little project to try to help me focus on seeing beauty in something every day. My goal is to post a photo each day of something I've found beautiful, interesting etc. Because this is a food blog, I don't plan to post most of these in the index. This photography page, however, will contain some links to posts with photography that I especially want to remember. As time goes on, it might include other things related to photography.

I've started a 365 Project page for these types of photos: http://365project.org/mamamegf/365
You can see one of the photos I've posted every day (I hope) on this page.

I've had some questions on what camera I use for my photos. The majority of the photos on this blog are taken using a Canon PowerShot A570IS; a Canon 30D DSLR with either a wide angle 18-50 mm lens (most of my good food photos are with this, but a few are with the powershot) or a 28-200 mm lens; or an iphone. I generally don't use a flash when taking food photos, but may or may not use a bounce flash or direct flash depending on the type of other photo.

My first post explaining this new photography project:

Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder

As for food photos, I'm not the world's best food photographer by any stretch of the imagination. I am learning, though, and having fun doing it. You can find some of my better food photographs at the following links:

Kitchen Artistry

Photograzing: Serious Eats

Tasteologie

As time goes on, I'll probably be adding links to inspirational food photographers and other photographers I admire.

Do you have food or other photography sites you visit for inspiration or tips, or a photography page or project of your own? Feel free to share it below!
